MUSLALA

URBAN ART GALERY

Musrara neighborhood in Jerusalem is located on the original boundary line of the 1967 border and in a certain way even today, after nearly 60 years it still acts as a border that prevents continuous passage from the east to the west parts of Jerusalem.

In order to allow continuous passage from the east to the west parts of the city i suggest  to open and continue Elisha street from the basin of the Shkhem Gate till Jaffa street. This will allow a formal and comfortable passage for the public, and at the same time to advantage the no man's land area as an open public space for artistic activity that characterizes the urban space of Musrara neighborhood and Muslala group.

Muslala group is manages as an association and allows artists to submit proposals for interventions in the seam area of Jerusalem, focusing on Musrara and its surroundings, while the tracks that are being created are available to the visitors throughout the year on the drawing boards, walls and house courtyards as a representatives in the neighborhood's area.

I see the continued development of Elisha Street as an opportunity to expand this artistic arena, because urban -art galery, not as a museum, allows the public freedom and equality to see and experience the art works and creations without payment or opening hours, and at the same breath the development of this area will bring people together from all over the city.
